Dear foundation organizers:

　　My name is Jerry Lu, a student currently studying at Shanghai XX High school. I am writing, on behalf of my classmates, to apply for the 20xx yuan worth of fund in a bid to initiate a program aimed at helping those students who are financially disadvantaged.

　　Being raised in families that don't have to worry about putting food on the table need not mean oblivion to our less fortunate peers. On this account, we would appreciate it if you could sponsor our poverty-relief endeavor. The following is how we would go about using the money. We would spend 1500 yuan purchasing some stationery for the needy students at our school. It is worth noting that we would inform them to pick up the school supplies themselves instead of us “doling out” the supplies so that we wouldn't embarrass those who we want to help. The remainder of the fund would be used to invite a motivational speaker who was to talk about how to lift oneself out of poverty by making right academic and professional decisions.

　　Modest as our efforts may sound, we believe they will warm some hearts. Much obliged if you could reply at your earliest convenience.

During the decades, people are intrigued by the profit, even some doctors do. As a doctor, they should not give up to the profit, they should treat the patients in the first place. Some patients are poor, the doctor should consider the situation, operating the treatment according to the patients. When there comes the emergency patient, the doctor should take the treatment right now, some doctors must wait for the patients to hand in money, this is not right. Doctors are still honored by the people, they should keep on their merit.

　　当我们看报纸时，总是看到一些对医生不好的东西，据说医生会要求病人使用昂贵的治疗，他们这样做是为了高额利润，我们感到震惊，因为当我们还小的.时候，就被教育医生是天使，他们拯救人们的生命，甚至将自己的一生奉献事业。在过去的几十年里，人们被利润吸引，医生也不例外。作为一名医生，他们不应该被利润屈服，应该把病人放在第一位。一些病人很穷，医生应该考虑情况，根据病人的需要来进行治疗。当有紧急需要治疗的病人来到的时候，医生应该立即实施抢救，有一些医生等待病人交钱才治疗，这是不对的。医生仍是被大众所尊重，他们应该保持医德。

　　We had a discussion about whether it is the only way out for senior students to go to college。Views vary from person to person。

　　The majority of us consider it very necessary to go to college。They think it can widen their knowledge and improve their qualities。Only in this way can they find better jobs after graduation。Very few students，that is about ten percent of the students think it no use going university， because the tuition is too high for their family to afford。What's more， it's rather hard for college graduates to seek satisfactory jobs。Thirty percent of the students， however， believe "All roads lead to Rome。" Therefore it doesn't make any difference whether they go to college or not。

　　In my opinion， we can receive a better education at college so that we can serve our motherland。

They must tell themselves that smoking not only does harm to their health, but also does harm to their families. The families will have much chance to take in the second-hand cigarette, in order to keep the families healthy, smokers must have the strong will to quit smoke.

　　戒烟不容易，人们也知道吸烟有害健康，但是他们无法抵制诱惑，又开始复吸，所以他们必须要有坚强的`意志。他们必须告诉自己吸烟不仅危害他们的健康，同时也危害家人的健康。家人很有可能会吸到二手烟，为了让家人保持健康，吸烟者必须要有坚强的意志来戒烟。

　　When people find it hard not to smoke, their mouth will feel uneasy, they want to smoke again. At that time, people can find some food or fake cigarette to take place of the real cigarette, in the long time, they will have less desire to smoke.

　　当人们发现不吸烟很难的时候，他们的嘴巴会觉得很不舒服，想要再次吸烟。在那时，人们可以找一些食物或者假烟来代替真的烟，长期以来，他们吸烟的愿望就没有那么强烈了。
