when you see a child fall into a river, but you can’t swim, you rush out and go into a noisy place, you want to tell somebody what has happened, but nobody listens to you. what will you do? wait for the child’s death and say nothing more because you are too shy? no, you must cry out: “everybody listen to me!”
so, confidence and courage can save one life or more than one even a lot of persons’ happiness. you mustn’t just wait and say nothing, for fear that nobody hears you. because they think you have no serious things and mind their own business that is more important than yours in their opinion. at this moment, you must think nothing but cry out, and somebody will know what has happened.
not only when you meet some dangerous things but also you want to let everyone know your advantages, you must cry out: “everybody listen to me!” too. in that case, somebody will pay attention to you. you will shine sooner because of your courage.

Recently, we had a discussion about whether adolescents should smoke cigarettes.
On one hand, about 20% of the students agree that adolescents smoke cigarettes. In their opinion, smoking can help them ease their pressure when they are under heavy stress. Besides, smoking is fashionable and it feels cool to smoke in front of other peers. However, on the other hand , about 80% object to it. They think smoking does great damage to their body; Once they are addicted to it, it ‘ll be rough to quit it. What’s more, smoking also has a harmful effect on others, non-smokers in particular. More importantly, if you are a heavy smoker, you’ll smell terrible. That’s why sometimes you find it difficult to communicate with others.
As far as I’m concerned, adolescents should not get into the bad habit of smoking. That’s because it does no good to our physical and mental health in the long term.

Though people have been always educated to save water, we can see they waste water all the time. For example, sometimes I can see children wash their hands for a long time and when they go away, they always forget to close the faucet. The most common situation I see is in the public toilet that people just walk away after using faucet and they don’t meant to close it. They are wasting water and they should be condemned. Water conservation is in need because in most part of the world, people don’t have enough water and we need water to keep alive. On March 22nd , which is a day to call for the public to save water, if not, we will face the emergent situation. So it is everybody’s duty not to waste water.
虽然人们一直都受到教育要节约用水，但是我们总是会看到人们在浪费水。比如，有时我会看到有些小孩子洗手洗了很长时间，而且离开的时候，总是忘记关闭水龙头。我看到最常见的情况是在公共厕所里，使用完后就直接离开了，完全没有要关水龙头的意识。他们浪费水，应该要受到谴责。我们需要节约用水，因为在世界的.大部分地区都是水资源缺乏的，我们需要水来维持生命。而3月22号这一天，人们呼吁所有人节约用水，否则，我们将面临严重的缺水情况。每个人都有义务节约用水。

I feel it a great honour to be your tour guide today. First, on behalf of my company, I warmly welcome all my distinguished guests from Australia to Shanghai and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower.
Located on the Huangpu River, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower is now the symbol of the city. Built in 1994 and opened to the public in 1995, it is now the highest building in Shanghai and the third highest in Asia. The Tower has a quite unique structure and consists of 3 large and 5 small balls. Inside the balls, you can have a bird's eye view of the city.
Our schedule for the trip to the TV Tower is as follows： you have an hour form 9：30-10：30am to experience the history of Shanghai on the first floor. Then we'll assemble in the middle of the hall at 10：30 and have another hour to overlook the beautiful city sceneries in the middle ball. Finally please do remember to go to the top ball at 11：30 to enjoy your lunch.
